About Refinishing Solutions
Specialist Surface Repair, Spray Finishing & Decorating
Refinishing Solutions is an independent specialist finishing business based in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, providing surface repairs, spray finishing, restoration and professional decorating across Somerset, Bristol, Devon and the wider South West.
The business was founded by Dean Baines, bringing together more than 25 years of experience across vehicle refinishing, painting and decorating and specialist surface repair.
Experience Built Around Finishing
Dean began his career in London and became a qualified car sprayer in 2003, developing specialist skills in preparation, colour matching, spraying and achieving high-quality finishes.
After leaving the vehicle refinishing industry, he spent more than a decade working as a painter and decorator on residential and commercial projects in and around London.
In 2014, Dean relocated to Somerset and became a qualified surface repair technician.
Over the following decade he developed specialist skills in cosmetic surface repairs, spray finishing and surface restoration, working on residential properties, commercial projects and leisure developments throughout the South West.
One Specialist. Multiple Finishing Skills.
Refinishing Solutions combines:
Specialist surface repairs
Spray finishing
Colour matching
Surface restoration
Painting and decorating
Furniture and joinery refinishing
uPVC and architectural spraying
Caravan and lodge refurbishment
This combination allows damaged, worn or dated surfaces to be repaired, restored and refinished rather than automatically replaced. Customers benefit from a practical, cost-effective service delivered by one experienced specialist, with careful attention to preparation, colour matching and the quality of the final finish.
Our Approach
Every project starts with assessing the surface, understanding the damage and identifying the most appropriate repair or finishing system.
Where practical, we aim to preserve the original surface or feature, carrying out localised repairs and blending the finish into the surrounding area.
The goal is simple:
Repair where possible. Restore where practical. Refinish to a high standard.

Dean is a hugely talented surface refinisher/ restorer. He took an item which ,if it weren't from my late parents, i would have chucked away. He made it look new and my parents would be chuffed, i'm sure. i'd highly recommend this firm to take good care of your possessions and bring them back to life. i'm still grinning😀, thanks Dean!
